Our client is looking for a Management Accountant to join their small finance team in their growing business!

The role will report to the Financial Controller, owning the day-to-day management accounting activities whilst partnering the wider business, and overseeing the ledger function. In time, this exciting role will grow with the company and there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved with project work which will directly relate to the senior management team's business decisions. You could be AAT Qualified with experience behind you, looking for a new challenge or you might be working towards your CIMA or ACCA Accountancy Qualification. Either way we are looking for someone who can tackle any challenge with perspective and using skills gained from previous finance roles.

Based near Banbury, Oxfordshire, on a modern site, you will be right in the thick of the business. They complete restoration projects and builds bespoke road cars. All aspects of bespoke rebuilds are carried out in-house, including engine and transmission builds, rust repair, metal fabrication, roll cage installation and full body paint. They are synonymous with one of the world’s most successful historic rallies and have worked with some of rallying’s greatest names.

Their offices and workshops are all on the same site, it's really important to them that they work comprehensively together on all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly management accounts to trial balance within agreed time frames.
  • Manage accruals and prepayments ensuring that postings are accurate.
  • Assisting the payroll process by way of checking that payroll information prepared by third parties is accurate and posted.
  • Closing of completed job cards and releasing of associated deposits.
  • Completion of the company VAT/Intrastat returns for submission to HMRC.
  • Complete weekly, monthly payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Sales ledger invoicing and chasing of monies outstanding.
  • Management of the company’s bank accounts and credit cards including monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for costs and revenue for key rally events.
  • Preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts.
  • Maintenance of Holding company (minimal transactions).
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required.

Skills & Personal Attributes

Essential:

  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to priorities own workload and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Positive and proactive approach.
  • Good Excel skills (vlookups, sumifs, etc).
  • Highly literate and numerate.
  • Self-motivated and uses own initiative.

Desirable:

  • Studying towards a recognised qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
