On behalf of a phenomenally successful accountancy practice, we are recruiting for a Tax Consultant to join the team at the firm’s Banbury office.  Bringing your vast technical knowledge and experience, your key focus within this role will be to support the firm in providing a high quality, cost-effective tax service to clients.

Reporting to the Tax Partner, the Tax Consultant will have the following responsibilities:

  • To provide exceptional levels of service to corporate and personal clients on a variety of tax specific areas including strategic planning, transactional advice and managing project work
  • Work with partners autonomously to create and deliver innovative solutions for clients, ie. proactive tax planning, delivering a unique benefit to existing and potential clients
  • Strive to gain experience and progress the role and the roles of the team by seeking to take more advanced work from the partners
  • Working independently and assisting the partners in promoting the firm in conjunction with the marketing department with a focus on the Tax and Wealth Planning and actively promoting the growth of the firm in key geographical regions
  • Developing knowledge of clients and their businesses to become the point of contact on day-to-day matters for the assigned clients
  • Seek to identify corporate and personal tax planning opportunities as part of the review process
  • Act as a focal point of relevant tax knowledge and disseminating that knowledge to relevant individuals across the firm
  • Along with the Partners, take ownership of controlling WIP by progressing work to completion/ billing point swiftly – liaising with partners re WIP and raising bills/ assisting as required

 

To be a serious contender for this position, applicants will satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be CTA, ATT qualified, or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years tax experience gained within a practice environment
  • Experience as a Tax Manager would be an advantage
  • Willingness to travel to other locations and work outside of normal hours as required
  • Strong management skills
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of corporate and personal tax
  • Strong IT skills; tax production software and MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be confident and organised with good networking skills
