Finance Business Controller
- Full time, 40 hours per week

Our client operates a world-renowned raw materials supply network, employing 17,500 professionals across 37 countries. The UK branch, headquartered in Thame (Oxfordshire), comprises approximately 70 employees and primarily serves the UK agricultural produce markets.
As part of the Finance Department and reporting to the Finance Director, this role encompasses a broad array of financial reporting and accounting activities. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in various accounting operations, business applications, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US GAAP, SOX compliance, and an understanding of core business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed trade results and balance sheets with accuracy and timeliness, including reconciliations and variance analyses.
- Compile group reporting materials and maintain supporting documentation.
- Participate actively in the company’s SOX compliance programme; assist in implementing new processes and procedures as necessary.
- Provide high-quality financial information to management and stakeholders on both regular and ad-hoc bases.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the group.
- Engage in IT and other projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting and reporting systems, including system upgrades or development.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts and fulfill additional external reporting obligations, ensuring adherence to IFRS and US GAAP standards.
- Support supplier and customer management, ensuring KYC compliance, credit control, and ledger review.
Essential Skills:
- Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CGMA/CPA/AAT or international equivalent).
- Experience in audit, internal audit, or internal control environments.
- Minimum of three years’ experience within a complex large-scale organisation, audit, or financial control position.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP and related systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of IFRS.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with Onestream.
- Previous experience within an audit firm.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX regulations.
- Project management experience, particularly with process and control oversight.

Location: Thame, Oxfordshire
Working Hours: 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday
